Here’s the truth: Sometimes help comes from surprising places.
Halloooooooo! Mulligan “Mugs” O’Brew here. Well, things are progressing with the rebuilding of The Northwoods Irish Pub. Funding is an issue (as if that’s new), but I am doing most of the repair work myself, so there should be a way to make it work. I have found that the visit of a friend or relative has taken on greater significance and has resulted in even more pleasure than normal, because without The Pub being open, I don’t see too many familiar faces very often.
In fact I even enjoyed the visit with my brother, Kegs, as he was in the area again this past week. (Seems there was a golf tournament in the area this time.) Kegs and I are A LOT alike in many ways, but NOT alike in many others. But I enjoyed his company immensely. And to top it off, he made a contribution to the rebuilding fund, which was unexpected and greatly appreciated, especially considering he is by no means a wealthy man. I talked to him about the plans, and he complained about the machinery not working at his business. I showed him some new ideas for The Pub and he whined about being tired. So it was a pretty normal visit other than the contribution. He reminds me of what they used to say about the troops in the service: if he’s not complaining, something’s wrong. But it was great to talk to him!
Keep on Peddlin’,
Mugs
