Here’s the truth: To rebuild does not mean to bring back what once was.
Halloooooooo! Mulligan “Mugs” O’Brew here. There was a time when walking by Upnorth Lake here in the north woods would sooth the savage beast, bring peace, and really give me the solitude and comfort that I needed to face the issues of that day. But right now the issues are bigger than a walk with nature can energize me for. So, today, I will sit and wish that as I look out over the amazing beauty before me, strength will seep into my veins and hope will return to my heart. I will continue to rebuild; I have no other path that I can see. But faith is all I have left that tells me the path will lead to a better place. I find no promise in the day-to-day tasks as I complete them. And though The Pub will exist again, some day, it will never be the same place. It will never have the same magic it once did.
But there will be beer! And perhaps some new magic.
